Discover new laptops from Samsung
In addition to the highly anticipated announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S23, the manufacturer is taking the opportunity to update its laptop fleet.
We almost forget it, but Samsung is also investing heavily in the laptop market. It’s no surprise that Galaxy Books is getting a facelift, benefiting from the general attention generated by its Galaxy S23 announcement. According to details, a new guest is coming to the party this year.
Galaxy Book goes into Ultra mode
This is arguably the biggest surprise of today’s series of announcements: the Galaxy Book family is growing to make way for the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra, which, as you can imagine, doesn’t skimp on any aspect of its spec sheet.
This high-end notebook takes its design from the Galaxy Book 3 Pro, with a brushed aluminum chassis and excellent thinness (13.2 mm, 1.17 kg) for a 16-inch PC. Yes, you read that right: 16 inches. This newcomer is accompanied by an excellent AMOLED touchscreen display with a frequency of 120 Hz and a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels in a ratio of 16:10. Its large size also allows you to add a numeric keypad to its keyboard.
But as you can imagine, the biggest piece of the Galaxy Book Ultra is under the hood. In this case, this laptop It can be configured with the latest processors from Intel and the latest graphics cards from NVIDIA.
At the “entry level” we will find the NVIDIA RTX 4050 (6 GB VRAM) accompanied by an Intel Core i7-13700H and 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of SSD storage. The most expensive model of the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra will go to the Intel Core i9-13900H processor and RTX 4070 (8 GB VRAM), 32 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD memory.
On the connector side, the side of the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra has three USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports, a USB-A port, an HDMI output, a 3.5mm jack and an SD card slot.
As for the price, you’ll obviously have to break the piggy bank to buy a new gem from Samsung. Bidding starts at €3,499 for the RTX 4050 model and goes up to €3,899 for the RTX 4070 version. No doubt: Samsung is attacking Apple and its latest MacBook Pro 16 M2 Max with a similar price.
The Galaxy Book 3 Pro tilts back
The more classic, but still attractive, Galaxy Book 3 Pro is available this year in 14-inch and 16-inch versions. A very slight increase compared to the 13.3 inches and 15.6 inches of the previous models. We keep a Super AMOLED panel that displays WQXGA + definition at 120 Hz.
In terms of performance, we will find an Intel Core i5-1340P or i7-1360P processor in this thin and light laptop (only 0.87 Kg for the 14-inch model), as well as 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB or 1 TB of storage. on SSD.
Like last year, the Galaxy Book 3 Pro will be available in a 360 version, which has a touchscreen and a hinge that allows it to open wide for use as a tablet. So this model will come with S Pen stylus.
To talk about connectivity, these different models have four Thunderbolt 4 ports, a USB-A port, an HDMI output, an SD card slot and a jack slot.
