Years later, Justine remembers this interview with Lafleur like it was yesterday.
“I interned at CKAC Sports radio for a few weeks and was sent to interview Guy Lafleur at his restaurant. He had collected all the trophies he won in his career in his restaurant and I had them all. I was 20 years old at the time, I told myself that he would have nothing to do with me, the little guy who came, instead he showed me every trophy and signed a sweater that I still have. says home today.
“I did not realize the magnitude of that moment at that time. Now, doing my first interview with a hockey legend and the Canadians is still very precious. It’s still amazing.”
A complete woman
He feels privileged to live his passion.
“I love what I do so much that it doesn’t even feel like work. I am very busy and happy. I have been in this business for 10 years, but I feel 2022 is the key year. They trust me more and more and give me challenges that I didn’t think I could handle so quickly. I’m excited about everything that’s happening. I feel really lucky to have gained the trust of my superiors and to see the importance of women in the world of sports.
Justine humbly declares that she has “a lot of crusts to eat before she becomes the next Chantal Machabée.” However, she recently realized that she was inspiring young women to follow in her footsteps.
“Slowly, thanks to social networks, I understand that people are listening to us and that we mention certain people. “It took me a long time to realize that I was also inspiring young girls.”
