Still a powerful little iPhone

Released in 2020, the iPhone 12 Mini still has good balance. It still stands out for its smaller form factor, which is similar to the iPhone SE 3, but with thinner bezels that are more pleasant to look at from the front. It’s also comfortable in the hand thanks to its 5.4-inch screen and easily slips into your pocket. Unlike the iPhone SE (2022), it has an Oled Super Retina XDR panel and therefore offers better contrasts and more vivid colors than the LCD-limited SE 3 model.

The latest SE is equipped with an A15 Bionic chip and is slightly more powerful than the 12 Mini, which later packs an A14 Bionic chip. It is still convincing and effective on a daily basis. The user experience will be fluid: be it for multitasking, running demanding programs or 3D games. Then with iOS 16, you’ll always benefit from the brand’s latest software updates with a pleasant and easy-to-use interface. Note that the 12 Mini is also compatible with 5G networks.

Nice pictures but poor battery life

Compared to the SE 3, the iPhone 12 Mini is more versatile, with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and wide-angle. It provides beautiful shots even after dark. On the video side, the smartphone can shoot videos up to 4K at 60fps and even HDR Dolby Vision at up to 30fps.

When it comes to autonomy, the 12 Mini is not a champion in the category. The reason: its small size. According to the Californian firm, it can continue to play 15 hours of video and 50 hours of audio. In fact, it lasts all day if your daily usage is moderate. Fortunately, it supports fast charging and wireless charging via MagSafe. It took 30 minutes to restore 60% power with a 20W USB-C charger. Note that you only have a USB-C/Lightning cable to charge the device (no power adapter in the box).
