You can use your iPhone as a sleep machine by selecting an option from the Accessibility menu. By balancing the frequency spectrum, the device begins to produce relaxing sounds that are able to drown out the most annoying sounds of everyday life.
Everything is based on frequency contrasts. Even the sound of a garbage truck or the screams of a crying baby from the apartment next door can be invisible if well balanced.

White noise is often used as an umbrella term, but while it can be particularly difficult to hear, “these alternatives are more conducive to sleep,” Neubauer said.
For sound engineers, white noise is a special “color” in the rainbow of mixed sounds. For example, pink noise has more intensity in the low frequency range, so it sounds deeper than white noise and sounds more like the sound of rain. Its sound graph resembles a downward slope.
Brown noise has a higher intensity and even lower frequency range than pink noise, resembling the roar of a distant waterfall. Its graph has a steeper downward slope than pink noise. How to balance sounds and voices
