1 this Thursdayer In December, VOD platform Netflix lifted the curtain on the first trailer for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s soberly titled docu-series. Harry and Meghan. Set to sophisticated music, this short video sets the tone for a program rich in revelations. “No one sees what happens behind closed doors”Prince Harry breathes sound for the first time. “Doesn’t it make more sense for us to tell our story?” asks the Duchess of Sussex.
While no details have been revealed about the secrets Harry and Meghan will uncover in the series, this first trailer dives right into the Sussexes’ intimacy. It really does lift the curtain on some very private shots of the couple, where Harry and Meghan are seen in their everyday lives, away from the glitzy evenings and formal events. Several black-and-white photos show the multi-partner couple sitting in a park, partying on the dance floor or kissing in a photo booth. In some, Meghan wears much shorter dresses than she is used to during her activities for the British royal family.
Yet another photograph, in black and white, shows the darker side of everyday life for the Sussexes. We see Meghan in a suit in a chair, tears streaming down her face in one hand. Holding her cell phone in her other hand, the Duchess seems to have learned some shocking news…
New attack on William and Kate?
But intimate photos of the Sussexes aren’t the most surprising thing about this first trailer. Immediately following the photo of Meghan in tears, a photo taken during a Union Day service at Westminster Abbey in March 2019 attracted particular attention. We see Kate Middleton and Prince William sat next to each other, closed face, black eyes. At the same time, Harry speaks the words “No one sees what happens behind closed doors”. So should we expect new showdowns between the Sussexes and Wales through this new documentary?
It seems so, especially since Harry and Meghan chose a very special date to release the first footage of their documentary. Indeed, this Wednesday, November 30, Prince William and Kate Middleton set foot in the United States for the first time since 2014. On Friday, they will attend the Earthshot Prize Awards ceremony, which honors great environmental initiatives. With this trip across the Atlantic, William and Kate hoped to forget Meghan and Harry. However, it seems that they have decided otherwise… According to a source close to Netflix, the documentary series “Harry and Meghan” will be shown on the platform on December 8.
